Overview of Position

The Account Manager is responsible for the overall management and delivery of services to clients, ensuring CTG’s operations align with client requirements, contractual obligations, and financial goals. This role oversees the end-to-end management of assigned projects, including client engagement, scope management, compliance, and team supervision. As the primary point of contact for clients, the Account Manager is accountable for resolving issues and ensuring that recruitment, onboarding, payroll, consultant contract issuance, and reporting processes are executed efficiently and within agreed timelines. They balance client expectations with CTG’s operational and financial interests.

Role Objectives and Key Responsibilities

Lead initial client engagements, clearly articulating CTG’s services and project scope as per contract terms and conditions. Ensure alignment between the scope of work, client expectations, and CTG’s service delivery, proactively managing changes and mitigating risks.

Manage the full lifecycle of assigned projects, from initiation through closure, including detailed planning, resource allocation, performance monitoring, and reporting. Ensure all deliverables meet quality standards and contractual milestones.

Serve as the primary point of escalation for client issues, complaints, and service gaps. Drive timely resolution through structured problem-solving, cross-functional coordination, and clear communication with stakeholders.

Oversee recruitment and onboarding activities for client-dedicated personnel, including consultant contract issuance, compliance checks, and payroll coordination. Ensure all processes adhere to CTG’s policies and local labor laws.

Develop and maintain strong client relationships through regular check-ins, business reviews, and strategic account planning. Identify opportunities for service expansion and collaborate with business development teams to support growth.

Monitor financial performance of assigned accounts, including budget adherence, cost control, and profitability analysis. Prepare and present regular financial and operational reports to internal leadership and client stakeholders.

Qualifications and Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, International Development, or a related field. A Master’s degree is strongly preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of experience in account management, project management, or client services, preferably in the NGO, humanitarian, or international development sector.

Proven track record of managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects with tight deadlines and remote team coordination.

Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management, invoicing, and cost analysis.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with senior-level clients and internal teams.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM software, and project management tools. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.

Demonstrated commitment to CTG’s core values: integrity, accountability, and respect for diversity. Willingness to travel within Uganda and occasionally to regional offices.
