Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in sourcing, evaluating, and selecting suppliers for equipment, materials, and services to meet organizational needs.
  • Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely processing, approval, and tracking through the procurement system.

  • Optimize warehouse and inventory management practices to minimize costs and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to forecast procurement needs and ensure alignment with project timelines and budgets.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all procurement activities, shipments, and inventory levels.
  • Assist in risk management and contingency planning related to procurement and logistics disruptions.
  • Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and company procurement policies.
  • Prepare and manage documentation for customs clearance, import/export permits, and procurement audits.
  • Prepare periodic management and ad hoc reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) on procurement and logistics performance metrics.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

  • Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is required; a Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in procurement and/or logistics coordination, ideally within a fast-paced or growth-oriented environment.
  • Solid understanding of end-to-end procurement processes, including vendor selection, purchase order management, and invoice processing.
  • Hands-on experience coordinating shipments, tracking deliveries, managing customs clearance, and working with freight forwarders.
  • Comfortable using procurement or logistics software such as SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or similar platforms.
  • Strong organizational, negotiation, and communication skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight timelines.
  • Proactive approach to identifying issues and implementing practical, effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with Tanzania's import/export procedures and customs regulations is an advantage.
  • Able to work cross-functionally with supply chain, finance, and operations teams to achieve organizational goals.
