Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies that align with the company's long-term business goals and growth plans.
• Manage all sourcing and procurement activities, including identifying and qualifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and securing high-quality materials and services at the most favorable pricing.
• Oversee inventory management processes to maintain optimal stock levels, reduce waste, and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
• Coordinate closely with internal teams such as Sales, Production, and Finance to forecast demand accurately and ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
• Optimize transportation and logistics operations, including route planning, carrier selection, and warehouse management, to improve speed, reduce costs, and increase reliability.
• Identify potential risks within the supply chain, including supplier disruptions, geopolitical issues, and compliance challenges, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the supply chain, conduct regular performance evaluations, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with industry regulations, company policies, health and safety standards, and environmental sustainability requirements.
• Lead, train, and mentor the supply chain team, fostering a culture of accountability, professional development, and operational excellence.
• Implement and manage digital tools and ERP systems to enhance transparency, data accuracy, and operational efficiency across the supply chain.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in supply chain management, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
• Certification in supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, or CLTD) is highly desirable.
• Proven track record of successfully managing end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, and inventory control.
• Strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and local Tanzanian import/export requirements.
• Experience implementing or working with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) is mandatory.
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Salary & Compensation Estimation

Based on industry benchmarks for Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, the estimated annual salary for this role ranges from 25,000,000 to 40,000,000 TZS (approximately 10,000 to 16,000 USD), depending on experience, qualifications, and company size.
