• In emerging markets like Kenya, access to working capital is the single biggest barrier to business growth. At Sevi, we are breaking down this barrier with our Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) platform, specifically designed for the dynamic nature of African commerce. We unlock capital by completely digitalizing payments, credit management, and KYC verification.
• We are currently in an exciting, crucial transition phase. What started as a focused credit product is rapidly expanding into an integrated fintech platform. We are significantly scaling our payment integrations, such as M-Pesa and other mobile networks, and building deep seller information systems. This allows us to provide African merchants not just with credit, but with the data, insights, and tools they need to run their entire business.

Why We Need You

• To accelerate this transition, we are looking for a unique hybrid: a Product-Minded Mobile Developer & Designer who can seamlessly bridge the gap between user psychology, stunning visual UX, and production-ready code.
• At Sevi, we do not believe in mindlessly ticking off Jira tickets or coloring inside rigid lines. The African market is dynamic and demands creative flexibility. We need a builder who loves talking to customers, discovering their real pain points, sketching out a beautiful solution, and then jumping straight into the codebase to bring it to life.

Our Tech Stack

• You will fully own the client-facing experience across mobile and web platforms, working with a modern, razor-sharp stack optimized for offline-first synchronization. Our primary mobile framework is React Native with Expo, and we use TypeScript as our core language. For web development, we rely on Next.js with the App Router. Data synchronization and state management are handled by ElectricSQL and Temporal.

• The Ultimate Hybrid: You have a strong visual eye and deep empathy for user experience, combined with the technical capability to write clean, maintainable code in TypeScript and React Native. You are equally comfortable in a design tool as you are in a code editor.
• User-Obsessed and Communicative: You love customer contact and care deeply about the why behind a feature. You want to see how entrepreneurs interact with your product and continuously iterate based on feedback. You do not build in a vacuum; you build in partnership with the people who use your product.
• Creative and Out-of-the-Box Thinker: You dare to experiment with unorthodox UX patterns tailored to unique market constraints, such as handling low-bandwidth environments or offline-first states using ElectricSQL. You are not afraid to break conventions when they do not serve the user.
