Job Details
World Vision Uganda (WVU) is a Christian relief, development, and advocacy non-government organization dedicated to working with children, families, and communities to overcome poverty and injustice. We currently operate in 43 districts and manage 48 Area Programmes implementing projects in health and nutrition, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), livelihoods and resilience, education, and child protection. World Vision is committed to the protection of children and adult beneficiaries from exploitation and abuse and will not employ individuals whose background is unsuitable for working with these beneficiaries. Position: Sponsorship Operations Officer
- Reports to: Area Program Coordinator
- Location: Kamwenge District
- Advert Start Date: 15th July 2022

Purpose of the Position
The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the timely implementation of Community Engagement and Sponsorship Program (CESP) activities and the effective management of sponsorship operations. This position aims to contribute directly to an enhanced relationship between children and their sponsors, while improving overall child wellbeing outcomes within the Area Program (AP). The officer will serve as a key driver of integrated programming, ensuring that sponsorship operations align with broader community development goals.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Technical Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or a related field, such as Sociology, Psychology, Community Development, Education, Community Health, or Development Studies, from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in community development work, including direct experience in Child Sponsorship Operations.
- Proven experience in Project Management, including program design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting.
- Knowledge of and experience working with Government and community structures at various levels.
- Excellent communication, networking, and advocacy skills to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Experience in managing sponsorship systems, including data management and reporting.
- Above-average knowledge and experience in videography and photography for documentation and communication purposes.
- Experience in working with and training local partners to build sustainable capacity.
- Understanding of a systems approach to child protection programming to address root causes.
- Experience in implementing faith and development models and working with church leaders to foster community engagement.
- Demonstrated skills for relating and working with children in a sensitive and supportive manner.
