Software Engineer Manager (Remote)

Position Purpose

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead the development of innovative products while nurturing the next generation of engineering talent. You will drive strategic technology decisions, build scalable and resilient systems, and deliver solutions aligned with organizational objectives, including retail pricing, promotional strategies, and pricing optimization initiatives. You will collaborate with strategic vendors to ensure third-party tools and applications are accessible and effectively leveraged by product teams. Additionally, you will guide the adoption of AI/ML-driven solutions to enable data-driven decision-making and enhance automation across the organization, ensuring that our systems remain at the forefront of industry standards and business needs.

Direct Manager/Direct Reports

Reports to the Software Engineer Sr. Manager. This role oversees a team of Software Engineers and may include direct reports at various levels.

Travel Requirements

Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time, depending on project needs and vendor engagements.

Physical Requirements

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position with frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
• Mastery of an object-oriented programming language, preferably Java.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams.

Minimum Education

The knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job, such as Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Systems.
