The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in professional training and capacity building, with deep, hands-on expertise in fleet management, workshop management, driver training, and comprehensive HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) and LV (Light Vehicle) maintenance procedures. Your work will directly enhance operational efficiency, safety, and reliability across WFP's global fleet, ensuring that life-saving food assistance reaches those who need it most.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough scoping missions in selected countries to systematically identify critical needs and operational gaps across the Global Fleet workforce and its related operations. This involves close collaboration with local stakeholders to deeply understand specific training requirements and pinpoint areas for performance improvement and safety enhancement.
  • Advise and guide stakeholders in selected countries on the strategic design and effective execution of capacity strengthening activities focused on TTC training topics. This includes working intimately with local trainers and operational leaders to co-develop relevant training content and detailed delivery plans that directly address the unique challenges of the Global Fleet workforce.
  • Prepare, develop, and deliver expert-level training on fleet management best practices, efficient workshop management, advanced driver training techniques, and comprehensive HGV/LV maintenance. This encompasses preventive maintenance schedules, advanced diagnostic procedures, and repair protocols, ensuring that all training sessions are practical, engaging, and directly applicable to daily operations.
  • Actively contribute to the collaborative development of high-quality, standardized training content and materials. This requires working closely with relevant internal stakeholders, subject matter experts, and local trainers to ensure all resources are accurate, up-to-date, and tailored to the specific learning needs of diverse audiences across different countries.

Qualifications & Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Education, Training, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive, hands-on experience in training and capacity building, with a clear and demonstrable focus on fleet management, workshop management, professional driver training, and comprehensive HGV/LV maintenance.
  • Proven, verifiable experience in the full lifecycle of designing, developing, and delivering impactful training programs, with a strong emphasis on sustainable capacity strengthening and professional development outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work effectively and sensitively with diverse local stakeholders, government partners, and in-country trainers in challenging environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capability to independently identify systemic needs and gaps within a large fleet workforce and develop practical, scalable solutions to address these critical gaps.
