Senior Front-End Engineer (React)

Job Summary

Symbiotic is seeking a Senior Front-End Engineer with deep expertise in React and TypeScript to join our remote-first team. As a key member of our engineering group, you will build responsive, accessible, and high-performance user interfaces for the infrastructure that underpins onchain collateral markets. You will work closely with product, design, and engineering stakeholders to deliver features that enable institutional capital to move onchain securely and efficiently. This is a full-time, remote position offering the opportunity to shape the next generation of neofinance applications in a fast-paced, high-trust environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of frontend development: requirements analysis, architecture and design, implementation, documentation, testing, and delivery.
• Build responsive and accessible user interfaces based on Figma designs, ensuring pixel-perfect implementation and cross-browser compatibility.
• Prototype interfaces for testing MVPs, iterating quickly based on user feedback and product requirements.
• Develop reusable components and maintain them in Storybook, promoting consistency and efficiency across the codebase.
• Integrate new features into the existing codebase, ensuring seamless functionality with backend services and blockchain protocols.
• Implement blockchain and wallet interactions, including connection flows, transaction lifecycles, and secure handling of user assets.
• Design efficient approaches to client-side state management, server-state synchronization, caching, and error handling.
• Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using Vitest and Playwright, covering async and wallet-interaction flows.
• Monitor production issues and application performance using Sentry, proactively identifying and resolving bottlenecks.
• Contribute to project estimation, planning, and technical decision-making, providing accurate timelines and risk assessments.
• Review code written by other team members and help maintain engineering standards, ensuring code quality and security.
• Communicate effectively with engineers, designers, product stakeholders, and company partners, translating technical concepts into actionable insights.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

• Expert-level proficiency in modern React and TypeScript, with strong instincts for component architecture and type-safe design.
• Production experience with Next.js, Vite, and pnpm-based monorepos, demonstrating the ability to structure scalable projects.
• Deep understanding of state management patterns, including server state with TanStack Query and lightweight client state with Zustand or similar, knowing when to apply each.
• Strong CSS and responsive design fundamentals, with experience using component libraries such as Chakra UI.
• Ability to turn Figma designs into accessible, reusable components, ideally documented in Storybook.
• Solid testing practice across unit, integration, and E2E levels, with tools like Vitest and Playwright, including handling async and wallet interactions.
• Experience optimizing performance through code splitting, memoization, bundle analysis, and Core Web Vitals, with debugging skills using Sentry.
• Security-conscious mindset: familiarity with CSP, secure wallet interactions, input validation, and safe handling of secrets.
• Confidence with Git workflows, Docker, and GitHub CI/CD; basic familiarity with Kubernetes and CDNs.
• Nice to have: experience integrating frontends with blockchain networks using wagmi/viem, wallet connection flows, transaction lifecycles, and Web3 UX best practices.

Salary & Compensation Estimation

Based on the senior nature of the role, remote work arrangement, and the company's backing by prominent venture funds, the estimated annual salary range is $150,000 to $220,000 USD, depending on experience and location. For candidates outside the US, compensation is likely benchmarked against local markets but remains competitive within the crypto sector. Stock options or token incentives may be offered as part of the total package, given the startup environment.
