Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Business Development team by analyzing client needs and recommending suitable solar photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) solutions that align with project specifications and budget constraints.
- Develop comprehensive technical proposals, including detailed system designs, single-line diagrams, and accurate cost estimates that meet client requirements and industry standards.
- Perform thorough site assessments and feasibility studies to evaluate solar irradiance, structural integrity, and grid connectivity, ensuring optimal system design and performance.
- Collaborate closely with the Business Development team to prepare competitive bids, tenders, and engaging client presentations that clearly articulate the technical advantages of proposed solutions.
- Translate complex technical designs into clear, client-friendly proposals and documentation, ensuring that all stakeholders understand the value and functionality of the systems.
- Coordinate with engineering and project implementation teams to verify the accuracy, feasibility, and compliance of all designs with local regulations and technical specifications.
- Participate in client meetings, product demonstrations, and contract negotiations by providing authoritative technical insights and addressing any questions or concerns.
- Review client requirements, technical specifications, and project scope to ensure alignment with company capabilities and to identify potential risks or opportunities.
- Support the seamless handover process to implementation teams by providing complete, precise, and well-organized documentation, including design files, equipment lists, and installation guidelines.
- Maintain a centralized repository of standard designs, templates, and technical documentation to streamline future project proposals and improve team efficiency.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, new product developments, and regulatory changes to continuously enhance technical expertise and contribute to innovation.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related technical field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical sales, system design, or engineering support within the solar energy or power systems industry.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, battery storage technologies, and power electronics, with hands-on experience in system sizing and design software (e.g., PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly and persuasively to non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, engineering, and project management, to deliver high-quality proposals on time.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all technical deliverables.
- Familiarity with Kenyan energy regulations, grid interconnection standards, and industry best practices is strongly preferred.
- Ability to travel occasionally to client sites for assessments, meetings, and project support as required.
