Key Responsibilities
- Administer domestic tax processes, including taxpayer identification, registration, and maintenance of accurate taxpayer records.

Role Requirements & Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a closely related field from a recognized university.
- Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA is highly desirable and will give candidates a significant advantage.
- At least 2-3 years of relevant experience in tax administration, accounting, or financial services, preferably within a government or regulatory environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of Ugandan tax laws, including the Income Tax Act, VAT Act, and Tax Procedures Code Act.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with tax management or ERP systems is a plus.
- High ethical standards, integrity, and the ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of local languages is an advantage.

Salary & Compensation Estimation
Compensation for this government role is competitive and aligned with the Uganda Revenue Authority's pay scale for mid-level tax officers. The estimated annual salary range is between 15,000,000 and 25,000,000 UGX, depending on qualifications and experience.
