Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the day-to-day operation of import and export customs processes, ensuring full compliance with Tanzanian and international trade regulations.
  • Coordinate transportation activities, including the booking of cargo space, tracking shipments, and resolving any transit issues promptly.

  • Analyze logistics data to identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all logistics activities adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Prepare and present regular logistics reports to management, highlighting key metrics and any potential risks.
  • Liaise with customs authorities and other government agencies to resolve any compliance issues quickly.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least two years of relevant work experience in logistics, supply chain, or a similar role. Exceptional candidates with less experience may be considered.
  • Strong understanding of local logistics industry practices, including customs regulations, transportation networks, and warehousing standards.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, as it is the primary working language. Knowledge of Chinese is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and cultures.
  • Proven organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with logistics software or ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and a proactive approach.
  • Willingness to occasionally work extended hours or travel as required, to meet operational demands.
