Job Summary

Alignerr is seeking experienced software engineers to evaluate, rank, and refine AI-generated code. In this fully remote, contract role, you will apply your deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and real-world engineering trade-offs to help improve how AI models write code for millions of developers. Your expert judgment will directly shape the next generation of coding assistants, ensuring they produce solutions that are correct, efficient, idiomatic, and production-ready. Key Responsibilities

• Review and rank AI-generated code solutions across multiple programming languages and problem domains.
• Evaluate code for correctness, efficiency, readability, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
• Identify bugs, anti-patterns, security issues, and performance bottlenecks in AI-generated outputs.
• Write detailed, structured feedback explaining why one solution is better than another.
• Refine and improve AI-generated code to meet production-level engineering standards.
• Provide preference rankings that help AI models learn what good code actually looks like.
• Work independently and asynchronously, fully on your own schedule.

Skills Inventory

• Expertise in code review and quality assessment.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent written communication for technical feedback.
• Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, Java, C+, Go, or Rust.
• Understanding of algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
• Familiarity with software design patterns and clean code principles.

Salary & Compensation Estimation

This hourly contract role offers a rate of $50 to $70 per hour, depending on experience and project complexity. With a commitment of 10 to 40 hours per week, the estimated monthly compensation ranges from $2,000 to $11,200 USD. For a full-time equivalent (40 hours per week), the annualized income would be approximately $104,000 to $145,600 USD. This is a freelance contract position, so benefits are not included, but the flexibility and remote nature are significant advantages.
