Job Summary
SAIC is seeking a highly motivated mid-level Unreal Engine 4/5 Developer to join the Army Game Studio team in Huntsville, AL. This is a remote, full-time position focused on developing serious games and training applications for the Army and other Department of Defense customers. As a key member of an agile Scrum development team, you will work closely with fellow programmers, game designers, subject matter experts, and artists to deliver cutting-edge virtual trainers and simulation tools. The role offers the opportunity to contribute creatively from prototype to delivery, with a focus on performance, optimization, and best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Interact with team members, customers, and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop applications using the Unreal 4 and 5 game engines.
- Contribute creatively to the application design and development process, from prototype to delivery.
- Develop and test code, fix bugs, profile, and optimize code for performance and reliability.
- Follow best practices, development processes, and coding standards to ensure high-quality output.
- Document and peer review technical designs with other software engineers to maintain code integrity.
- Write efficient code with descriptive comments and maintain a high level of attention to detail.
- Take ownership of work as a highly motivated self-starter, driving tasks to completion.
- Demonstrate ability to meet tight deadlines, prioritize workload, manage time efficiently, and work effectively in a small team environment.
Role Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Game Programming, or a related technical discipline with at least 9 years of relevant experience is required.
- Related work experience (6 additional years of experience) may be used in lieu of a degree.
- 3-5+ years of professional Game Programming experience in a related field is highly desired.
- Must possess an active Secret security clearance; US Citizenship is required.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in C+ with the Unreal 4/5 Engine (3 or more years).
- Experience with version control software such as Perforce, Git, or similar.
- Experience with other game engines such as Unity, VBS, or similar.
- Experience with AR/VR platforms including HTC Vive, Oculus, ARKit, Hololens, or similar.
- Experience with iOS, Android, and/or Windows Mobile development.
- Experience with C/C+, Objective-C, JavaScript, HTML, JSON, XML, and other relevant languages.
- Experience with the lifecycle of design and programming of training content from concept through project completion.
- Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment.

Salary & Compensation Estimation
The target salary range for this position is $120,001 to $160,000 per year, based on experience and other factors. SAIC also offers a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, and professional development opportunities. Remote work is fully supported, and no travel is required.
