Software Developer, Jr.

Key Responsibilities

• Estimate effort, develop code, and perform testing of application solutions within an object-oriented environment.
• Apply knowledge of .NET 4.5/5.0, MVC 4, LINQ, Entity Framework, C#.NET, Telerik/Kendo, T-SQL, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS to build robust applications.
• Follow the software development life cycle (SDLC) for each development task, ensuring adherence to quality standards and project timelines.
• Collaborate within an Agile Scrum framework by brainstorming technical approaches, developing code, and performing unit testing according to the development schedule and team processes.
• Assist leads and management in researching and learning new technologies that improve current systems and provide vision for future infrastructure.
• Continuously self-improve and stay current with cutting-edge technologies to modernize existing applications' functionality, performance, and user interface.
• Help prepare technical documentation and requirements when needed, ensuring clarity and completeness for development and testing teams.
• Work closely with functional teams to determine feasibility of requirements and collaborate on design ideas and improvements.
• Participate in sprints, backlog grooming, estimation, and other Agile Scrum ceremonies, contributing to iterative delivery of high-value features.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent work or educational experience (typically requires 1 year of relevant experience).
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodology, processes, and techniques.
• U.S. Citizenship is required, with eligibility to attain a security clearance (no current clearance required to start).
• Ability to communicate effectively and collaboratively in a remote, team-based environment.
• Familiarity with Git and/or other source control technologies.
• Familiarity with at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., C#, Java, or C+).
• Ability to learn rapidly and leverage third-party tools, SDKs, and APIs effectively.

Skills Inventory

• Essential Skills: Proficiency in C#.NET, ASP.NET MVC, and object-oriented programming principles. Basic understanding of SQL and relational database concepts. Working knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and CSS for front-end development. Experience with version control systems like Git. Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Preferred Skills: Experience with React or modern JavaScript frameworks. Familiarity with Postgres or other advanced database systems. Understanding of cloud environments, particularly AWS. Experience with unit testing frameworks and creating/maintaining unit tests. Knowledge of simple database administration techniques. Understanding of interface design and user experience principles.

Salary & Compensation Estimation

The proposed salary range for this position is $53,100 to $106,300 per year, which is the national average for this role at CACI. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
