Key Responsibilities
- Invent and implement practical LLM-based workflows to accelerate Oklo's business and engineering processes, ensuring rigorous security and information control.
- Design, implement, deploy, and maintain production machine learning models for the design and analysis of nuclear systems, including surrogate models for real-time digital twins.
- Grow and manage a team of software engineers to support AI initiatives, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
- Present roadmaps, product demos, and progress updates to senior leadership, ensuring departmental needs are met through your initiatives.
- Solicit user feedback from individual contributors and department leadership to continuously improve AI solutions and workflows.
- Integrate AI into large, corporate data ontologies, managing company-wide initiatives from inception to delivery and maintenance.
- Collaborate with nuclear engineers to model, simulate, and design advanced fission power technology, applying creative problem-solving to open-ended challenges.
- Ensure compliance with quality assurance and regulatory requirements, particularly regarding AI and controlled data.
- Travel to headquarters in Santa Clara, CA twice a quarter for team meetings, off-sites, and onboarding (first two weeks in-person).
Role Requirements & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Physics, or equivalent software engineering experience.
- Proven experience in managing and/or integrating AI into large, corporate data ontologies.
- Demonstrated leadership of company-wide initiatives from project inception to delivery and maintenance.
- Strong background in physics-informed machine learning, including surrogates, symbolic encodings, and digital twins.
- Fluency in Python and proficiency with CI/CD pipelining and Git.
- Experience growing small software organizations and working with large data collection pipelines.
- Knowledge of optimization, statistics, and design of experiments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write in modern active voice and present technical content clearly.
- Passion for clean energy and eagerness to learn about advanced fission technology; nuclear background not required.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, highly iterative startup environment with a self-motivated and collaborative mindset.
- Willingness to travel to Santa Clara, CA as required.

Salary & Compensation Estimation
Oklo offers a competitive salary range of $200,000 to $250,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
