Remote AI Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Engineer robust, efficient, and secure web applications and backend services, with a strong emphasis on backend functionality, performance, and scalability.
• Design and develop AI-powered systems that are usable across diverse platforms and environments.
• Stay current with modern software engineering practices and apply them to real-world systems, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Collaborate with an international team of engineers and product managers to deliver cross-functional innovations and meet project milestones.
• Implement and maintain version control workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization strategies to ensure smooth deployment and operations.
• Integrate cloud-based AI services (e.g., Azure AI Studio, AWS Bedrock) to build intelligent features and enhance product capabilities.
• Perform unit, integration, and performance testing to ensure reliability and optimize web services.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to maintain high code quality standards.
• Debug and resolve complex issues across the stack, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal user experience.
• Document technical designs, processes, and best practices to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintainability.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in software development, with a combination of frontend (React JS, Next JS) and backend (Java, .NET) technologies, including Python.
• Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Proficiency in version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipeline implementation.
• Strong knowledge of authentication protocols (OAuth, Entra ID, SSO) and application security best practices.
• Experience with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in integration patterns including REST, gRPC, and WebSockets.
• Excellent unit and integration testing skills, along with strong code review capabilities.
• Experience with performance testing, debugging, and optimizing web services.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in global teams.
• Advanced oral English proficiency is required; Spanish is a plus.

Salary & Compensation Estimation

The annual salary for this role is competitive and will be commensurate with experience and location. For candidates based in Latin America (Mexico, Costa Rica, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina), the estimated annual base salary ranges from 40,000 to 75,000 USD, depending on seniority and expertise. For US-based candidates, the range is typically between 110,000 and 160,000 USD.
