Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across AIML, including Foundation Models, NLP, Invocation, and Speech Recognition, to align engineering plans with business goals.
• Lead the design and architecture of core Siri systems, engineering tools, and user interactions, with a strong emphasis on scalability and international adaptability.
• Create and execute ambitious engineering plans to enhance Siri's accuracy, responsiveness, and effectiveness in global markets.
• Drive the integration of advanced AI technologies, including Large Language Models, to improve Siri's understanding and generation of multiple languages.
• Work on end-to-end product development, from concept to deployment, ensuring high-quality, performant software that meets user expectations.
• Mentor junior engineers, providing technical leadership and guidance to foster team growth and excellence.
• Own large cross-functional projects, coordinating efforts across multiple teams to deliver impactful features on time.
• Analyze user data and feedback to iterate on features, ensuring cultural relevance and user satisfaction.
• Champion best practices in software engineering, including code reviews, testing, and documentation.
• Stay current with emerging AI and machine learning trends, applying them to solve real-world challenges.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

• M.S. in Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional software engineering experience, ideally working on an end-user product.
• Working capability with programming languages such as Swift, C+, Objective C, Java, or similar.
• Solid fundamentals in object-oriented design, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
• Experience with machine learning and data science.
• Proven product sense, with a focus on building the best experience for the end-user.
• Proven track record of architecting performant software, ideally both on-device and server-side.
• Demonstrated ownership of large cross-functional and multi-team projects.
• Proven technical leadership, education, and team mentorship skills.

Salary & Compensation Estimation

The estimated base pay for this role is between $166,600 and $296,300 per year, depending on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. In addition, you will have the opportunity to become a shareholder through discretionary stock programs, including restricted stock unit awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan with a discount.
