Position Overview
This is a fully funded JJ/WBGSP 2026 Round 2 Master’s Scholarship offered by a premier global financial institution, the World Bank Group. The scholarship is designed to support outstanding students from developing countries in pursuing a master’s degree at select participating universities across multiple locations, including the United States.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations
As a scholarship recipient, you will be expected to complete a rigorous master’s degree program in a field relevant to the development priorities of the World Bank Group, such as economics, public policy, health, education, agriculture, environment, or infrastructure.
You must maintain a strong academic standing throughout the duration of the program, meeting all university and scholarship progress requirements.
Upon completion, scholars are encouraged to return to their home country or a developing nation to apply their knowledge and skills in contributing to sustainable development and poverty reduction.
You will be an ambassador of the World Bank Group’s mission, participating in networking events, mentorship opportunities, and potential knowledge-sharing activities with other scholars and alumni.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be citizens of a developing country that is a member of the World Bank Group and not hold dual citizenship with any developed country.
A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) earned at least three years prior to the application deadline is required. The degree must be from a recognized institution.
Applicants must demonstrate professional experience in a development-related field, typically at least three years of paid, full-time experience after the bachelor’s degree.
Proficiency in English is essential, as the program is conducted in English. Applicants may need to provide TOEFL or IELTS scores if required by the university.
All application materials, including transcripts, recommendation letters, and a personal statement, must be submitted by the deadline of May 29, 2026.
Scholarship Benefits
The scholarship covers full tuition fees for the entire duration of the master’s program at a participating university.
Economy class air travel from the scholar’s home country to the host university and back upon program completion is provided.
A monthly living stipend is included to cover accommodation, meals, and other basic expenses while studying.
Health insurance is provided for the duration of the scholarship, ensuring access to medical care.
