Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and document comprehensive application test plans based on software requirements and technical specifications.
  • Coordinate with team members to establish test environments by clearly articulating environmental needs and configurations.
  • Create new test cases and execute established test cases to validate software functionality and performance.
  • Accurately record and document test results, comparing actual outcomes against expected results to identify defects and areas for improvement.
  • Communicate effectively with developers, project managers, and technical support specialists regarding product issues, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Manually test software applications, following detailed test instructions and scripts to ensure thorough coverage.
  • Write and maintain automated tests, utilizing tools such as Test Cafe, to enhance testing efficiency and coverage.
  • Continuously adapt to evolving process guidance and best practices to support both project goals and the broader testing community.
  • Participate in daily communication with the Software Development Team to align on testing priorities and project milestones.
  • Contribute to the improvement of testing methodologies, tools, and documentation to streamline QA processes.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, combined with at least 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 5 years of experience, or 7 years of combined education and experience.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to government contract requirements.
  • Must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance or be able to obtain one.
  • Proven experience in software quality assurance, with a strong understanding of testing methodologies and best practices.
  • Familiarity with web development technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with object-oriented programming concepts and software development lifecycle.
  • Working knowledge of version control systems and agile software development methodologies.
  • Proficiency in integration testing, regression testing, and automated testing tools.
  • Strong SQL and relational database management skills.

Salary & Compensation Estimation

This estimate is derived from industry benchmarks for Software QA Engineers with 3-7 years of experience, adjusted for the cost of living in California. InnovaSystems offers a competitive compensation package, including a 401k plan with company match, comprehensive health and dental insurance, paid time off (120 hours annually, increasing after 3 years), 10 paid holidays, and opportunities for performance-based bonuses.
