Entry-level Software Engineer

Job Description

• Own and ship user-facing features end-to-end in a modern stack including React, Next.js, and TypeScript, guiding each feature from initial concept through to production deployment and post-launch iteration.
• Leverage AI and large language models (LLMs) as a core part of your daily development workflow to accelerate prototyping, solve complex problems that would traditionally take ten times longer, and enhance code quality through intelligent debugging and refactoring assistance.
• Design, build, and maintain robust APIs and command-line interfaces that integrate Memyard with external platforms such as Google Drive, GitHub, Figma, and other business-critical tools, ensuring seamless data synchronization and workflow automation.
• Contribute directly to AI-powered summarization and digest pipelines by working hands-on with LLMs, parsing complex data structures, and optimizing algorithms for accuracy and performance.
• Take full ownership of features from initial scoping and technical design through implementation, shipping, and continuous improvement based on real user feedback and performance metrics.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product management, design, and AI research to transform rough ideas into polished, reliable, and scalable user experiences that delight customers.
• Build and contribute to internal developer tooling, open-source projects, and Claude skills that enable agentic workflows, reducing friction and increasing team velocity across the engineering organization.
• Proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, debug complex issues across the full stack, and implement optimizations to keep the system fast, reliable, and scalable as the user base grows.

Requirements

• You ship things consistently and have a demonstrable portfolio, side projects, or a professional track record that proves you build and finish features, applications, or tools rather than simply starting them and moving on.
• You use AI and LLMs daily as an integral part of your engineering workflow, whether through Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, or similar tools, and you treat AI as a core accelerant for writing code, debugging, and reasoning through complex technical challenges.
• You possess strong design and product taste, care deeply about craft and user experience, and can clearly distinguish between a solution that is merely functional and one that is genuinely excellent and user-delightful.
• You move quickly and are biased toward action, preferring to ship a v1, gather real-world feedback, and iterate rapidly rather than engage in prolonged deliberation or over-engineering.
• You are scrappy and resourceful, able to figure things out independently without waiting for detailed specifications, explicit permission, or hand-holding from teammates or managers.
• You have strong familiarity with React, Next.js, and TypeScript, or demonstrate a willingness and ability to ramp up on these technologies very quickly to meet team velocity.
• You possess working knowledge of APIs, databases, and the end-to-end architecture of modern web applications, understanding how each layer connects and interacts in production environments.
• You have excellent communication skills, can articulate your technical thinking clearly in written and verbal form, and know when to ask for help or seek input from colleagues to unblock progress.
• You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or you bring equivalent hands-on experience that demonstrates deep practical knowledge and a track record of shipping high-quality software.
