Senior Murex Front Office Consultant

Job Summary

This is a fully remote, senior-level contract opportunity for a seasoned Murex Front Office Consultant with deep expertise in interest rate derivatives, equity derivatives, and credit derivatives. The role is with SUS Infotech Inc, a technology consulting firm serving financial institutions globally. You will support front office users, resolve daily trading issues, and contribute to product implementation and upgrades. The contract runs for 12 months with the possibility of extension, offering flexibility and the chance to work with a dynamic team across global markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert-level support to front office users on Murex, resolving daily issues related to trading, pricing, and risk management.
• Implement and configure Murex modules for interest rate, equity, and credit derivatives, including portfolio swaps and bond swaps.
• Manage market data feeds, curve structures, and simulations to ensure accurate valuation and risk calculations.
• Analyze P&L components and explain variances to traders and management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on product implementation, upgrades, and test management.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Document functional specifications and provide training to users as needed.
• Participate in trade lifecycle management, from trade capture to settlement, ensuring data integrity.
• Support market risk management processes, including VaR, stress testing, and back-testing.
• Identify and escalate complex issues, working with development teams to deliver solutions.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Murex, specifically in front office functionalities and modules.
• Strong product knowledge in interest rate derivatives, equity derivatives, and credit derivatives, with a focus on portfolio swaps and bond swaps.
• Proven experience in product implementation, upgrades, and test management.
• Excellent understanding of P&L concepts, market data management, and curve construction.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly.
• Experience supporting front office users in a fast-paced trading environment is mandatory.
• Nice to have: SQL (Oracle or Sybase), Unix commands, and market risk management (VaR, stress tests, back-testing) experience.

Salary & Compensation Estimation

As a contractor, you can expect an hourly rate of approximately 80 to 120 USD, with the potential for higher rates if you have niche expertise in portfolio swaps or bond swaps.
