Position Overview
We are hiring immediately for a Beginners Teacher (18 months) at Cadence Academy Preschool, part of the Cadence Education family. This full-time role is ideal for an educator who is passionate about early childhood development and eager to create a nurturing, stimulating environment for toddlers. As a key member of our teaching team, you will directly contribute to shaping the next generation through our innovative, research-based curriculum and warm, inclusive classroom culture.
Key Responsibilities
Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that fosters cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth for children aged 18 months.
Create a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment that encourages exploration, curiosity, and independence.
Observe and document each child's daily milestones, progress, and interests, and communicate these effectively with parents and guardians through regular updates and conferences.
Collaborate with fellow teachers and center leadership to plan and execute a balanced daily schedule that includes quiet and active play, indoor and outdoor activities, and fine and gross motor skill development.
Model and encourage age-appropriate social behaviors, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation, intervening gently to maintain safety and respect.
Enhance children's play by introducing language-rich interactions, stimulating toys, and creative activities that support emerging skills.
Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment that meets all licensing and safety standards.
Participate in ongoing professional development, team meetings, and training sessions to continuously improve teaching practices.
Qualifications and Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum of 6 months of previous experience as a preschool teacher or in a licensed daycare setting is required.
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or college degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High level of flexibility and willingness to work within business hours, including occasional early mornings or extended hours as needed.
Genuine enthusiasm for working with toddlers and a patient, nurturing demeanor.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families.
