What You'll Do

• Record screen sessions demonstrating specific tasks within professional software, accompanied by clear, step-by-step verbal narration that explains each action and decision in detail
• Annotate screenshots of complex software interfaces by drawing precise bounding boxes around all relevant UI elements, ensuring each annotation is accurate and consistent with project specifications
• Follow provided staging instructions to set up specific UI states, configurations, or data sets prior to recording, replicating realistic use-case scenarios
• Utilize a custom capture tool to record workflows accurately and consistently, adhering to standardized naming conventions and file formats
• Adhere closely to detailed task guidelines and quality checklists to ensure all collected data meets strict usability and accuracy standards for downstream applications
• Collaborate with the project team to clarify ambiguous instructions, report technical issues, and suggest improvements to recording processes
• Maintain a disciplined workflow, balancing speed with precision to meet project milestones without compromising data quality

Who You Are

• You possess strong familiarity and hands-on experience with at least two of the following professional software tools used in mechanical or electrical engineering domains:
• AutoCAD Mechanical
• SolidWorks
• Inventor
• Vivado
• You are detail-oriented and capable of following precise, multi-step instructions without deviation, ensuring consistency across all recordings and annotations
• You are comfortable working independently, managing your own schedule, and meeting tight deadlines in a remote, asynchronous environment
• You have access to a physical Mac computer (not a virtual machine) and are willing to create a fresh macOS user profile if required for task isolation
• You demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to articulate technical workflows clearly during recordings
• You are proactive in seeking clarification when guidelines are ambiguous and take ownership of your work quality

Nice-to-Have

• Prior experience with data collection, annotation, quality assurance, or similar data preparation roles for machine learning or AI development projects
• Experience recording or documenting complex software workflows, including creating training materials or user guides
• Comfort working with new tools, staged environments, and rapidly evolving project requirements
• Familiarity with version control or file management best practices for large-scale data sets
• Background in mechanical design, electrical engineering, or a related technical field

What Success Looks Like

• Screen annotations are precise, consistent, and perfectly aligned with annotation guidelines, with minimal need for rework or correction
• Screen recordings accurately capture realistic, expert-level workflows that reflect genuine user behavior and decision-making processes
• Tasks are completed efficiently while maintaining high quality, meeting or exceeding daily or weekly productivity targets
• Collected data is usable at scale for downstream AI research and development, contributing to the training of robust and reliable machine learning models
• You actively flag edge cases, ambiguous scenarios, or technical difficulties, helping to improve the overall quality and robustness of the data collection process
