Job Summary

Standard Bank, one of Africa's leading financial services institutions, is seeking a skilled Software Engineer specializing in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) to join its Group Functions division in Johannesburg. Key Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, debug, and maintain software programs in development environments, ensuring alignment with agreed standards and tools.
• Apply best practices in software engineering to achieve well-engineered, maintainable, and scalable results.
• Work within a structured framework of programming standards under the supervision of senior technical resources.
• Develop and optimize SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) planning models and solutions to support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
• Integrate SAP planning solutions with SAP BW/BW4HANA and other enterprise data platforms to ensure seamless data flow and consistency.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand financial planning and analytics requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Participate in Agile development cycles, contributing to sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to deliver high-quality software increments.
• Perform code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to ensure robustness and reliability of deliverables.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to SAC, planning models, and system integrations in a timely manner.
• Document technical designs, processes, and procedures to maintain comprehensive knowledge repositories.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in SAP analytics and cloud computing to recommend improvements and innovations.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

• First Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; an additional degree in Finance is advantageous.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in SAP SAC Planning and/or SAP BPC Planning, with proven delivery of budgeting, forecasting, planning, and scenario modelling solutions.
• Strong experience in designing planning models and integrating SAP planning solutions with SAP BW/BW4HANA and other enterprise data platforms.
• Solid understanding of Financial Planning & Analytics processes, including budgeting, forecasting, workforce planning, and variance analysis.
• Proven software engineering, testing, deployment, and Agile delivery experience.

Skills Inventory

• Expert proficiency in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) planning and administration.
• Hands-on experience with SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation).
• Strong knowledge of SAP BW/BW4HANA data modelling and integration.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, or Python for custom development.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and API management for system integrations.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and cloud-native services.
• Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and DevOps practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

Salary & Compensation Estimation

The estimated annual salary for this role is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Based on industry benchmarks for Johannesburg, a Software Engineer with 5+ years of SAP SAC experience can expect a base salary ranging between ZAR 800,000 and ZAR 1,200,000 per annum.
