Senior Frontend Engineer

Job Summary

Cloudbeds is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join our Booking Engine Squad, the team responsible for the guest-facing reservation experience that powers direct bookings for tens of thousands of properties across 150 countries. In this fully remote role, you will build and evolve a modern React and TypeScript codebase, partnering with backend, product, and design to ship features that are fast, polished, and built to convert. You will work across the full booking journey, from checkout to customization tools, applying modern e-commerce best practices and leveraging analytics and experimentation to drive decisions. This is a high-leverage role on a revenue-critical product, offering the opportunity to shape AI-ready experiences and create new offerings that properties can sell directly through the booking engine.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve the guest-facing booking experience in React and TypeScript, ensuring high performance, reliability, and conversion optimization.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to plan, build, and ship features that enhance the booking journey and meet business goals.
• Improve application performance and conversion rates through profiling, experimentation, and implementation of best practices.
• Lead technical discussions with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including the frontend architecture group, to drive alignment and innovation.
• Mentor teammates through pair programming, code reviews, and knowledge sharing to elevate team skills and code quality.
• Write clean, well-documented, thoroughly tested code, and champion accessibility standards across the team to ensure an inclusive user experience.
• Contribute to the evolution of the frontend architecture, including exploring micro-frontends, web components, and AI coding tools.
• Participate in agile ceremonies, continuously improve processes, and foster a culture of ownership and continuous learning.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

• 5+ years of web application development experience, with a strong portfolio of shipped products.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript, TypeScript, and JavaScript frameworks, with React preferred.
• Strong command of HTML and CSS, including responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience with API-driven design and development, including RESTful services and GraphQL.
• Solid Git fundamentals, including branching workflows, code review, and CI/CD actions.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, with a passion for software best practices, design patterns, and testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end).
• Strong communication, teamwork, and collaboration skills, with a real sense of ownership and excellent time management.
• Passionate about agile practices and continuous improvement, with business-level English fluency (verbal and written).
• Experience identifying and improving application performance, including profiling and optimization techniques.
