Key Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain, and support agile software development processes to modernize legacy systems, ensuring high performance and scalability.
• Apply advanced theories, principles, and concepts to solve highly complex technical problems and contribute to the development of new principles and concepts.
• Lead the design and implementation of microservices architecture to rearchitect legacy applications, improving modularity and maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, design solutions, and ensure alignment with mission objectives.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment pipelines, ensuring adherence to best practices and quality standards.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Python software development, testing, and deployment.
• Proven experience in rearchitecting legacy applications using microservices architecture.
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
• Active Secret clearance is required; ability to obtain higher clearance if needed.
• Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Skills Inventory

• Essential: Python (advanced proficiency), microservices design, CI/CD (Jenkins, GitLab CI), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban), version control (Git).
• Preferred: Java or C+ knowledge, automated testing frameworks (pytest, Selenium), MBSETS (Model-Based Systems Engineering), TS/SCI clearance, Master''s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.

Salary & Compensation Estimation

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $112,800 to $257,000 USD, depending on location, experience, education, and contract requirements. This range is typical for a senior software engineer role with a defense contractor, reflecting the specialized clearance and technical expertise required.
