Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain TypeScript libraries and platform tools for our React and Next.js applications, ensuring code quality and reusability across the enterprise.
  • Design and implement cloud-native microservices using modern backend frameworks, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance optimization across both front-end and microservice layers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product owners, UX designers, and QA engineers, to design and deliver user-friendly features for all form factors, from desktop to mobile.
  • Optimize applications and services for maximum speed, scalability, and reliability, employing performance optimization techniques and best practices.
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI and UX designs, proposing alternative solutions when necessary to meet business objectives.
  • Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality, consistency, and adherence to architectural standards.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the entire stack, from front-end user interfaces to backend microservices, ensuring timely resolution.
  • Stay up to date with the latest front-end and microservice technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and integrate them into our development processes.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, stakeholders, and clients, presenting complex technical ideas in clear business terms.
  • Integrate Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) with React components in both headful and headless architectures, as needed.
  • Customize webpack configurations and write custom plugins to bundle code as UMD bundles for isomorphic consumption.
  • Utilize agentic GenAI development tools like Claude or ChatGPT to enhance development efficiency and innovation.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7+ years of experience in software design and development, with expert-level expertise in multiple programming languages including JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Next.js, and React.
  • Strong experience in designing and developing scalable microservices using modern backend frameworks and cloud-native architectures.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of backend technologies such as Node.js, Java, SQL, NoSQL, Spring Boot, and Kafka.
  • Experience using GraphQL and REST for building robust APIs and service integrations.
  • Experience with automation, CI/CD, release management processes, and application deployments.
  • Exposure to agentic GenAI development tools like Claude, ChatGPT, or similar tools.
  • Experience in building enterprise-scale web applications using micro front-end architecture.
  • Experience in developing software using front-end libraries and frameworks, primarily React.
  • Experience in customizing webpack configurations and writing custom plugins to bundle code as UMD bundle for isomorphic consumption.
  • Strong knowledge of performance optimization techniques across both front-end and microservice layers.
  • Experience using Jest, Jasmine, Mocha, and JUnit with Mockito for unit and integration testing.

  • Experience integrating AEM with React components in headful and headless architectures (preferred).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical ideas clearly.

Salary & Compensation Estimation

As a FLEX Senior Full Stack Software Engineer at Marriott, the estimated annual salary range is between $130,000 and $170,000 USD, depending on experience, location, and specific skills. This estimate is based on industry benchmarks for similar senior full stack roles in the hospitality technology sector. Marriott offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time positions, including medical, dental, vision insurance, health care flexible spending account, dependent care flexible spending account, life insurance, disability insurance, accident insurance, adoption expense reimbursements, and paid parental leave.
