Tutorial Assistant (Procurement And Logistics Management)

Key Responsibilities

• Attend and under-study senior academic staff during lectures, seminars, tutorials, and practical sessions to learn effective teaching methodologies and subject matter expertise.
• Independently conduct seminars, tutorials, and practical sessions for undergraduate students, ensuring comprehensive understanding of procurement and logistics concepts.
• Assist in grading assignments, tests, and examinations under the supervision of senior faculty members, ensuring fair and accurate assessment.
• Participate in academic research projects, contributing to data collection, literature reviews, and report preparation under the guidance of senior researchers.
• Provide support in consultancy services and public outreach programs organized by the department, enhancing the university's community engagement.
• Enroll in and successfully complete a Master's degree program in a relevant field as part of the professional development requirement of the role.
• Collaborate with fellow assistants to prepare teaching materials, case studies, and practical exercises that enrich the learning experience.
• Undertake any other duties assigned by the Head of Department or senior academic staff to support the smooth operation of academic activities.

Role Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in one of the following fields: Procurement and Logistics Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Supply Chain Management, or a closely related discipline.
• Minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5.0, or equivalent, from a local or internationally reputable university accredited by the Tanzania Commission for Universities.
• Strong academic background with a demonstrated interest in teaching, research, and professional development in procurement and logistics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Swahili is an added advantage.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented academic environment.
• No prior work experience is required; however, any teaching or tutoring experience is beneficial.
• Must be a Tanzanian citizen or hold valid work authorization for Tanzania.
• Applicants must be available to commence postgraduate studies immediately upon appointment.
