Role Overview

• We are seeking a skilled Game Developer to join our team in Nairobi, the vibrant innovation hub of Kenya. This full-time position offers an opportunity to work on cutting-edge mobile and web-based games that engage users across Africa and beyond.
• As a Game Developer, you will be responsible for designing, coding, and testing interactive gaming experiences using modern game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine. You will collaborate closely with artists, designers, and product managers to bring creative concepts to life.
• Your primary focus will be on developing high-performance, scalable, and visually appealing games that run smoothly on a variety of devices, including mobile phones, tablets, and desktops. You will optimize game performance, debug issues, and ensure a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement game mechanics, user interfaces, and gameplay systems using C#, C+, or similar programming languages.
• Develop and maintain game assets, including 3D models, animations, audio, and visual effects, in coordination with the creative team.
• Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance to identify and resolve bugs, performance bottlenecks, and compatibility issues across multiple platforms.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in game development to continuously improve our products.
• Document code, workflows, and technical specifications to facilitate knowledge sharing and future maintenance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in game development, with a strong portfolio showcasing completed projects.
• Proficiency in Unity or Unreal Engine, and solid understanding of game physics, animation, and rendering pipelines.
• Experience with mobile game development (iOS/Android) and knowledge of performance optimization techniques for mobile devices.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as Git and agile development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech or mobile-first product development, particularly within the African market.
• Knowledge of multiplayer networking, cloud services, and live operations for games.
• Familiarity with data analytics tools to track player behavior and inform design decisions.
