Job Summary

The Technical Sales Executive is responsible for driving sales of technical products and services. This role involves identifying customer needs, providing technical solutions, and building strong, long-term relationships with clients. The ideal candidate will have a blend of technical expertise and sales acumen to effectively communicate product benefits, overcome objections, and secure sales. This is a dynamic position that requires constant learning, strategic thinking, and a customer-first approach to consistently achieve revenue targets and expand market share.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales and Business Development:
    • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to meet or exceed assigned sales targets and key performance indicators.
    • Identify and qualify new business opportunities through dedicated market research, networking, cold calling, and prospecting activities.
    • Build and maintain strong, consultative relationships with existing clients to secure repeat business and uncover upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Develop a deep understanding of the technical aspects, features, and benefits of all products and services offered.
    • Conduct compelling technical presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept sessions for prospective and existing clients.
    • Collaborate closely with the engineering and product development teams to address specific customer requirements and provide customized, viable solutions.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, addressing all technical and commercial inquiries promptly and resolving any issues with professionalism.
    • Conduct regular follow-up meetings and check-ins with clients to ensure high levels of satisfaction, identify potential pain points, and discover additional needs.
    • Systematically collect, document, and communicate customer feedback to inform product development, feature enhancements, and overall service improvement.
  • Market Analysis and Strategy:
    • Continuously monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing changes, and industry developments to maintain a competitive edge.
    • Identify potential market opportunities, emerging segments, and strategic adjustments to the sales approach based on data and insights.
    • Prepare and deliver accurate, detailed sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline analyses to management on a regular basis, supporting data-driven decision making.
  • Proposal and Contract Management:
    • Develop, customize, and deliver professional sales proposals, quotations, and contracts that clearly outline value propositions and terms.
    • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with clients to close sales agreements that are mutually beneficial and profitable.
    • Ensure all sales activities and contracts comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal standards.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork:
    • Work closely with marketing, engineering, customer support, and finance teams to ensure seamless service delivery and a unified customer experience.
    • Actively participate in team meetings, strategy sessions, and brainstorming to contribute ideas for improving sales processes and marketing campaigns.
    • Share best practices, successful techniques, and industry insights with colleagues to foster a culture of continuous learning and high performance.

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, Marketing, or a closely related field is required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in technical sales, with a preference for experience in the FMCG sector or technology-driven industries.
    • Proven, demonstrable track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and revenue goals.
  • Skills:
    • Strong technical knowledge and ability to quickly learn and articulate the value of complex products and services.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, both verbal and written.
    • Proficiency in using Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software and the full Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a data-driven approach to identifying opportunities and challenges.

    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment.
